YVES JUHEL
Yves Juhel urodził się w 1969 roku w Les Pavillons-sous-Bois (Francja). Zginął na Korsyce latem 2003 roku.
Z wykształcenia stolarz (École Boulle, Paryż). W wieku dwudziestu lat zajął się malarstwem. Na przełomie XXI i XXI wieku, po około dziesięciu latach pracy, czerpiąc w szczególności ze swojej wiedzy na temat XIX-wiecznej rzeźby francuskiej (Barye, Fratin itp.), zaczął zgłębiać temat zwierząt.
Artysta o sobie:
Nie ma we mnie nic awangardowego. Moje obrazy pozostają w tradycji malarskiego rzemiosła
(impasto, transparentność, szkliwo) i w jego klasycznych tematach: kwiaty, portrety, martwe natury.

Yves Juhel was born in 1969 in Les Pavillons-sous-Bois (France). He died accidentally in Corsica in the summer of 2003.
Trained as a cabinetmaker (École Boulle, Paris), he turned to painting in his twenties. At the turn of the twenty-first century, after some ten years' work, drawing in particular on his knowledge of nineteenth-century French statuary (Barye, Fratin, etc.), he set about exploring the theme of animals. This part of Yves Juhel's work will be at the heart of the exhibition organised by the Fundacja Wspólnota Gdańska at the Oliwski Ratusz Kultury.

There's nothing avant-garde about me. My paintings remain in the tradition of the painter's craft:
impasto, transparency, glaze; and in its classical themes: flowers, portraits, still lifes.
